This is a very finely detailed 1930s purse of meticulously embroidered scrolls and flowers on a camel coloured background. The frame is most probably brass, and features a very elegant trail of poppies around the front and two very stylised hounds heads for the clasp. The interior is very fine dusty pink silk which is quite threadbare and has a side pocket and is finished to the frame with a chain of ribbon work flowers. There is a fine brass chain also.
Condition.
Apart from the shot silk interior, there are no other faults with the purse. The frame, clasp and the condition of the embroidery is in excellent condition. The interior with some care could be replaced, but this purse would also look lovely on a display just as well.
