This is an unusual and unique piece from the 1970s using an original 1930s two sided glass amulet in red glass featuring a moulded relief design of the winged god Isis before a wall of hieroglyphics.
The rounded triangular piece is large and substantial and has the same design both sides, so that the pendant looks great at every turn.
There are touches of black as an accent, as well as green over- painting which has worn differently each side.
The very 70s surround of curly wire is hand made to fit the amulet and looks like silver, however, there are no hallmarks or stamps to confirm.
There is a long snake chain which could be changed easily if so desired.
This is a real statement piece and combines two uniquely different styles and eras in an interesting and artful way.
Condition is very good. There are no chips or cracks to the glass piece, and considering it’s age is in great overall condition. The surround is true and intact. The original glue used to secure the amulet within its frame shows some discolouration from time on one side, but doesn’t detract from the already rustic nature of the amulet piece.
The long snake chain is in unkinked good order with a parrot style clasp also working and secure.
