This is a 1980s polyester scarf by indigenous art company Balarinji featuring a festive design of squiggly spotted boomerangs in a primary colour-scheme. Famous in particular for their stunning commissioned designs on the outside of Qanatas planes, this particular example was a scarf commissioned for Australia’s bicentenary in 1988.
The condition of this scarf is fair, but there are a few tiny marks here and there, and one small spot of tan paint the size of a pea. A very small section of the edging on the scarf has come undone showing a raw edge.
