This is a great piece of Australian kitsch culture by way of this 1980s dyed kangaroo skin pouch decorated with dozens of enamelled pins, mainly from the Northern Territory.
The roo skin has been panelled in stripes of cream and bark brown fur upon which rows of (30 in total) enamelled tourist pins have been collected and attached to the pale sections. The pins are almost all exclusively from the N.T.
The bag itself has a simple drawstring top, and the base is brown vinyl. The interior has a cream polyester woven lining.
The condition of this pouch is very good. The fur is in good order with no shedding or bald areas. The badges are in original glossy condition with no rust or tarnishing. The interior lining and the PVC base is also in good order.
Dimensions 14cm tall, 10cm diameter.
