The Genny label was founded in 1962 by Arnaldo Girombelli where he started out designing handmade skirts and blouses, which were sold only in his boutique in Italy.
The brand gained recognition among the elite of Italy and in 1973 a young Gianni Versace took the position as Genny’s head designer. After this the house of Genny fostered many other famous designers such as Claude Montana, Dolce and Gabbana and Christian Lacroix.
This round necked shell top in black organza is a Genny creation from the late 1980s, and features an incredibly decedent design in gold bullion and dangling crystals, as well as mirror backed jewels.
The front of the blouse is particularly decorative, whilst the back and the sleeves is in a fishscale design.
A long zipper at the back allows the wearer to put the top on like a jacket in reverse, and the cut is fitted across the hips in a very snug way.
The condition of this top is in very good order, with no pulls, holes or discrepancies in the organza.
There are some very minor losses in decoration in one or two places only, but these are not at all obvious to the eye. The zipper is smooth and secure. Labels are all intact.
Size French 40. Due to the narrowness of the hip, this top would best fit a size 6-8 or a 10 with narrow hips.
It is highly recommended to check the measurements provided.
As you can see, the bust we have used in the photographs is a size 10, and the top is not sitting as it should on the hip area.
