This is a rare and early piece from the original Flamingo Park shop from the 70s or early 1980s. It features a hand knitted rectangular shape of banded stripes in various earth tones and a sleeve with open slits.
Jan Ayres was the knitter extraordinaire for Jenny Kee in the early days, and produced a few of her own creations for the iconic Flamingo Park.
This particular knit would have been quite a modern style at the time, and it has been hand knitted in cotton. At the side seam inside, there is an early label in hot pink. The condition of this knit is very good. Colours are still strong and there are no runs, or pulls.
There are two points in the knit where the yarn has been tied, which is part of the hand knit and not a fault. Some very slight signs of wear are evident.
SIZE, would fit an 8-14.
