This is a large size suede and leather vintage saddle bag by GUCCI, from the late 70s. The equestrian theme is evident in the wonderfully graceful, saddle-like contours of the bag and also the fittings: The highly finished gold-tone stirrup charm at the front especially.
The unusual two tone taupe colour is both stylish and wearable, and has a perfect contrasting stitch in beige, as well as piping around the main body of the bag.
The interior features three very roomy compartments with a diamond woven interior, a zip pocket with gilt signature charm, and a leather label, bearing the GUCCI MADE IN ITALY logo.
There is a long adjustable shoulder strap with stirrup shaped buckle, and the flap is secured by way of GUCCI insignia magnetic clasps.
Condition is excellent.
This bag has been used sparingly and then stored away for many years.
There is a slight mark on the suede on the bottom right hand side of the front of the bag. But it is faint and not very visible with the natural grain of the hide.
There is some slight wearing of the piping on the corners of the bag, but only minor.
The leather panels are perfect, stitching true and sharp. Shoulder strap is supple and and unblemished.
Hardware is untarnished and is neither scuffed, nor scratched. Interior is excellent with (no pen marks!) stains, blemishes or visible wear. Zipper is operating well and smoothly. Magnets are strong and secure.
