A fantastic, old vintage Kashmiri black wool Poncho with intricately hand embroidered pastel floral embellishments around a large central motif and edged with ornate borders of lines and floral chains. The naru neckline has a metal side zip which extends neatly across the shoulder.
The condition is excellent, showing only little signs of wear, and there is no fading, or losses to the embroidery. The body of the poncho shows a few very minor areas of wear which is quite remarkable for a piece of this age, being from the 1960s. This treasure was purchased on the Indian leg of a world tour back in the day, and it has been in storage since then and very well looked after.
The back of the poncho is identical to the front.
