This is a great and earlier knit entitled “Broken Hearts” by Jenny Kee and Pam Ayres for Flamingo Park from the very early 1980s. Pam Ayres of course was Jenny Kees knitter extraordinaire, and her name is synonymous with earlier examples of Jenny Kees work.
The rectangular 100% cotton knit top features a dramatic and vividly coloured design of abstracted broken hearts, with a bold black border, and is featured in the Step into Paradise book.
This knit has the original Flamingo Park label which was attached to the garment upside down, perhaps it was to go with the broken hearts theme?
The condition of this knit is excellent, with no holes, pulls or runs. The colours are vivid and true and there are no stains or bleeds of the colour. This knit has only very light signs of wear which does not detract from this great piece.
Size S-M
This knit, being in a classic 80s large boxy shape would fit up to a size 12 but would look equally amazing on a small frame.
