This is an original late 1980s silk scarf by HERMÈS, featuring a 1963 design by Philippe Ledoux, entitled NAPOLEON.
The design showcases the pivotal moments of his life within laurel cameos and decorated by images of military fineries upon a repetitive pattern of bees.
The design is printed upon silk, which itself has a bee damask pattern.
the condition of this scarf is excellent, however there is a very faint small yellowed discolouration to the silk between the eagle elements in the design. Please see final image.
This is a minor flaw which isn’t very noticeable at all and could well be removed by dry cleaning.
Other than that, there are no flaws.
The silk is pristine, no holes or snags or pulls and
the colours are vivid, crisp and true.
The edges of this scarf are hand rolled and pristine.
Label is still attached stating, MADE IN FRANCE, 100% SILK.
