This spectacular Zandra Rhodes all silk dress from around 1976-78, is calf length, with an intricate pattern of large circular medallions, ornament and shells, in a grey, white and russet colours scheme.
There is an elasticated waistband and a gathered side split at one side of the skirt, rounded neckline, and 3/4 sleeves, each with a long petal shaped piece which cocoons the sleeve. There are two ties either side of the neckline with pearl stoppers.
The silk has been further embellished with diamanté’s, beaded accents and pearls spaced evenly along the edges. Bugle beads are sewn along the neckline and to the centre of the medallion motifs. All have been meticulously applied by hand. The embellishments and the garment it’s self, display not only superb attention to detail, but also excelsior craftsmanship. Finishes are stunning, and the printing is wonderfully matte opaque upon the sheer silk chiffon.
The dress also has a grey silk lining. And the Zandra Rhodes tags are all present at the back of the neck.
Condition is truly excellent. There are no flaws, no stains, pulls to the silk, or holes. All the beaded accents are secure with no losses. Colours are true, and as new. Elastic on waistband is not perished and still with perfect stretch and bounce.
